The Chinese smartphone giant could launch the next Xiaomi 12 with a 50-megapixel main camera, according to two separate posts on Weibo by Tipster Digital Chat Station, spotted by Sparrows News. The Xiaomi 12 could also feature a wide range of periscopic angles and telephoto lenses, as well as 100W fast charging, and a camera under screen, according to the report. Xiaomi has not yet released details about the smartphone, but previous leaks have suggested that Xiaomi may release the Xiaomi 12 series in December, making these smartphones one of the first to hit the upcoming Snapdragon chipset.
Xiaomi 12 could have a full HD + screen, a move from the Mi 11 series that came with a resolution of 1440p last year, according to tipster. While previous reports have suggested that the upcoming Xiaomi 12 will include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, the chipset itself is yet to be announced. Qualcomm recently announced the separation of Qualcomm and Snapdragon brand and storage as a standalone product, with the new SoC expected to be unveiled at the Qualcomm Tech Conference between November 30 and December 2.
Meanwhile, a recent report suggests that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, which may be the company's next high-end smartphone, may have a quad-powered rear camera, with a 50-megapixel GN5 sensor. Xiaomi is yet to unveil the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Ultra specifications and features, but the handset is said to be a special Chinese smartphone and could arrive in the second quarter of 2022.
