Google Alphabet is temporarily authorizing a weekly COVID-19 test for anyone entering Google offices or institutions in the United States, a technology giant said Friday.
Anyone coming to Google workstations in the US will need a negative test and will need to wear a surgical level mask while in office, the company said.
"To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 during this time of high risk, we are implementing new temporary health and safety measures for anyone accessing our US sites," said a Google spokesman.
Google offers free home and in-house options to its employees, dependents and family members.
The interim policy of weekly testing comes as conditions for the omicron variant of the most contagious coronavirus surgery in the country.
Last month, Google said it was delaying its plan to return to office worldwide since January amid growing concerns about Omicron.
