- Mozilla has released the latest version of its Web browser, Firefox 96, with many new and updated features. Version of Firefox 96 is available for desktop and Android now. To improve audio and video calls, Mozilla has worked on audio compression and automated gain acquisition in the latest update. The company also added development to canceling the echo. On Android, users will find a new feature of highlights of history with Firefox 96. It will show the most recently visited websites. Separately, Firefox users on Mac and Windows complain that they are experiencing problems while downloading any website. As per user reports on Twitter and Reddit, a growing number of Firefox users are experiencing problems with sites that fail to load and no status information is provided to users.
- The first annual Mozilla Firefox desktop update comes with significant improvements in audio compression, automatic profit management and echo cancellation. The Firefox 96 desktop version also focuses on reducing workload on a larger cable. It may help the browser to run faster on older and slower systems. Additionally, with a new update, Firefox will automatically change all cookies to the SameSite = lax attribute. Mozilla says this will help monitor Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks.
- The update has security fixes on older versions of Firefox. With the latest update, on macOS, the command-click links in Gmail will open in a new tab. It has fixed issues with multiple video playback and video quality problems on certain sites. It also fixes an issue where WebRTC reduces screen sharing correction. To avoid trouble with light changes, missing captions and more Mozilla temporarily disables the locked screen full screen on macOS.
- For Android, the new release of Firefox 96 added a historical highlight featuring the recently visited websites. Also, it brings improvements to images displayed by recent bookmarks on the home page. The update brings up the "Fill in link from clipboard" upgrade and fixes the issue of secret tab interactions.
- In a recent update, Mozilla states that selecting 'search group' for 'Jump back' changes to the active tab. Duplicate history items are now integrated and the delete history button is labeled with screen readers. Update fixes crashes while browsing bookmarks. - Separately, some Mozilla Firefox users report a problem on the company's support sites, Twitter and Reddit that prevent websites from being loaded for now. A persistent loop bug in using Firefox HTTP3 is reported to be causing the problem. While there is no permanent fix from Mozilla bug fix right now, there is a temporary operating system to disable HTTP3 uploads completely in Firefox. - Opens Firefox
- Enter: stop at the URL bar to unlock the settings screen
- Search the 'network.http.http3.enabled' setting
- Set this setting to 'false' to disable HTTP3
- Close and restart Firefox
