Riot Games on Monday said it had agreed to pay $ 100 million to resolve the 2018 sexual harassment case with California government agencies and current and former female employees.
The Tencent-owned company said it would pay $ 80 million (approximately Rs. 600 crore) to members of the case, including all current and former full-time female employees and temporary contractors in California who have been working since November 2014.
An additional $ 20 million (approximately Rs. 150 crore) will be paid for attorneys and various expenses, Riot Games said in a statement.
"In an effort to drive continuous transparency and accountability, Riot also commits itself to having its internal reporting and payment processes monitored by an external company jointly authorized by Riot and the Department of Qualifications and Housing for three years," the company said. .
The final approval of the court is pending, as it is expected to be heard in the coming months, the statement said.
The lawsuit was filed in November 2018 by former employees Melanie McCracken and Jess Negrón, alleging sexual harassment and sexual harassment and misconduct at the Riot Games, the Washington Post reported on Monday. The case is being investigated by two California government officials, the report said.
